Rumors have been spreading far and wide about the cast for Saving General Yang (忠烈杨家将), the upcoming movie about the seven Yang brothers. Alas, rumors are just rumors, so it wasn't until the press conference yesterday that we actually got photo evidence of the actors.

Shiyi Lang returns to Siniang's cabin to fetch the Ge Lu Dao but, unfortunately, meets up with her as he's about to leave. She fawns over it but can't pull it out of its sheath, so Shiyi Lang does it instead. The Ge Lu Dao turns out to be an extremely rusty broadsword. Talk about anti-climactic.

( It's okay, the rest of the episode isn't quite as disappointing. )

Xiao Shiyi Lang (蕭十一郎) is probably my favorite drama of all time. I'm aware that it differs from Gu Long's novel in many ways, which is why I try to see this drama and the novel it's based off of as two different things.
